NBT product development team is an eclectic mix of expertise in design, software, firmware, and hardware. We are looking for a Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) to join the Engineering team.

These will be your tasks

  • Design and build devices, from low-power IoT devices to high-power industrial systems
  • Make use of analog and digital design techniques, utilizing professional lab equipment, signal generators, oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analysers etc.
  • Run simulations of analog/digital circuits and entire systems using industry-standard software tools
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout to IPC, IEEE norms, using professional EDA software tools
  • Boards bring-up testing
  • Design for manufacture, considering the production requirements and limitations, BOM costs at higher quantities, supplier and distributor liaisons
  • Certifications and manufacturing
  • Managing internal and external resources
  • Mechanical 3D modeling to produce prototypes and functional models for MVPs, which can be taken directly to manufacture
  • 3D printing in a variety of technologies and materials
  • Manage and lead a team of hardware and embedded engineers

You're offering these qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Electrical or Electromechanical engineering
  • Very good theoretical and practical knowledge of hardware engineering
  • Understanding of radio communications
  • Professional PCB design, 3D modeling and EDA tools
  • DFM, physical and financial requirements of hardware devices
  • Experience with hardware manufacturing
  • Experience with certification process under consideration of common norms

Nice to have

  • Experience in managing a team of engineers
  • Experience with narrow-band wireless technologies, BLE, NB-IoT etc.
  • Knowledge of embedded software tools
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, such as Matlab, Spice
  • Fluent German
